Tea Time Birthday

Good day, everybody! I hope that you all have had a lovely Father's Day and that you've been able to spend quality time with the special men in your lives. As my son lives nearly 500 miles away, I wasn't able to be with him to celebrate his special day but I did spend a few hours yesterday with my wonderful brother-in-law, both of his sons as well as their significant others (wife and girlfriend). You may recall that I traveled to Austin last month to attend the wedding of the older nephew. I am making a wedding album for the newlyweds as my wedding gift and they brought me a disk with all of their wedding photos on it. So the time has come to begin working on that sizable project. I have never undertaken such a large and important project before so I'm just a little nervous about it. I am determined, however, so I'm just going to take my time and do it right.

Okay, back to the subject at hand.  I have a card to show you today using one of the gorgeous digi stamps of Sandi Huggett.  Sandi offered this tea pot and cup and saucer as free images to the members of The Outlawz.  I knew immediately when I saw them that I had to have them and I had an instant image in my mind what I would create with them.  Thank you, Anne!  Well, I have made 3 cards with them so far but I'm only showing you one of them.  I'll save the others for later when I might not have time to make something new.

The fuschia blossoms on these pieces are just beautiful and were so much fun to color. If you have never seen these delicate flowers in person you should look them up on the internet. They are grown in a wide variety of colors and put on a spectacular show when planted in groups. I would love to have a real tea set that looks just like this one!

This card measures 5 1/2" square. I distressed the papers on the front of the card to give it that shabby chic look. I also coated the teapot and cup and saucer with Diamond Glaze to give it the appearance of glazed china. The moss green card base is Core'dinations and the silver foil cardstock I used for the mats is from American Crafts. The dp is from K and Company's Best of Brenda Walton stack. I colored the images with Copics, fussy cut them and layered them onto the card with pop dots. The paper doily and ribbons were purchased from Michael's. The stamps I used are by Inkadinkado and Studio G. Cotton lace is from Jo-Ann. The metal corner embellishment is by a coompany called Accent Factory and Trims Company and is sold in sets of 4 or 8 under the name "Embellish It!" The pearl heart pin, to which I added a pink Swarovski crystal and pink Swarovski glass pearl, as well as the tiny little maple leaf bling were in some blog candy I received from my friend, Kay. The paper lace strip on the inside is from my stash.  I can't remember the manufacturer but I think it was probably K and Company. It originally came on a card with 3 different colors and styles of paper lace ribbon.

So there you have it. I hope you have enjoyed seeing one of my latest creations. Come join us at The Outlawz if you'd like to get Sandi's free digi images. She has some beautiful ones! I hope the remainder of your weekend is awesome and that the coming week brings you lots of creative time.

Happy crafting!

  2. Oh my gosh this is so pretty. I downloaded this digi from Free Digital Stamps, but I doubt I will ever use it because I can't color it to do it justice, but you sure did.

  4. Beautiful card Anniebee,we call those flowers 'Fushias' here in NZ. I have made 3 scrapbook wedding albums so far, and as daunting as it sounds, once you start printing off the pics, you creative juices will flow, and you will have to stop yourself, as you run out of pages in the album...lol...Such fun.
