Winding down the week with a sympathy card

I can't believe it's Friday again and nearing the end of June already! Independence Day is right around the corner , for heaven's sake! It's crazy how fast time has been passing. Even though I'm not currently doing the 9 to 5 thing, there still aren't enough hours in the day to do everything I need and want to do. Fortunately for me, I don't have anybody but the dogs and cats demanding my time so it's easy for me to put off the chores in favor of crafting! LOL!

Today, I have a sympathy card that I created using the fabulous digital artwork of  Anne E. Fenton, who is a member of the very talented Outlawz design team. I'm still pinching myself over being selected to join them! This beautiful covered bridge just spoke to me and after I finished coloring it, I thought it would make a lovely sympathy card. I kept my design clean and simple so as not to detract from the bridge. I wanted it to be the focal point because this scene just feels so serene to me and fitting for this kind of card.

.
I have always loved bridges of all kinds but especially covered ones like this.  Sadly, these are a rare sight in most parts of Texas. I colored this gorgeous digi with my Copics and I must tell you that it looks much better in person.  Somehow (please don't ask me how as I couldn't begin to tell you), I managed to capture the glow of a sunset sky and the subtle shadows present just before dusk. They just don't show up in the photographs like they do in person.

Thankfully, this card was not designed with anyone in particular in mind. It will go into my stash until it's needed (and I hope that will be no time soon). Thanks for dropping by today. I hope you enjoyed my project.  Have a wonderful weekend!

Happy crafting!
