New Projects for Round 6 of the CDAC Progressive Freebies Challenge (cdacpc6)

Good Sunday morning to you all!  In two days we'll be at the mid-point of November and Thanksgiving is right around the corner. Right on its heels comes Christmas and New Years so we are already at the beginning of the busiest time of year. With that in mind, some of the awesome digital artists have given CDAC images for the participants in their Progressive Freebies Challenge to use in making Christmas cards and other projects this round. If you recall, in the last round we had some Thanksgiving and some Christmas images and they were all really cute! But I like the set of images even more than the last ones. I enjoy making my own Christmas cards so this challenge suited me to a tee! As I have done before, I will post 3 projects today and two tomorrow.  My posts will be short (after this one!) and I won't list the materials and supplies I used on each card so save you from having to scroll through it each time.  As always, if you have any questions regarding a card, just leave me a comment with your question included and I will get back to you with the information you need.

To start things off, I am going to show you  a cute little gift bag I made with the image by Designed 2 Delight.  It's an adorable polar bear sliding down a snow hill on his/her rump!  So cute!  I colored the image with Copics and used it to decorate a gift bag.  I thought it turned out really cute.

I am going to get some tissue paper that matches the pretty pale turquoise of the ribbon but I haven't had a chance to shop for it yet. The front of the bag as well as the snowflake charm are covered completely in silver glitter and the circles on the bow are white iridescent glitter so this little bag, which measures approximately 10" by 7", really sparkles in the light.

Okay, Project 1 complete!  Please stand by for Project 2... I'll be back in a flash!

Aside from the CDAC Progressive Freebie Challenge, I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Entry #4 for the CDAC Progressive Freebies Challenge #3 ( (cdacpc3)

If you're looking for the JustWordz Design Team Friday post, go here.

Today is the last day to post entries in CDAC's Progressive Freebies Challenge for which I have created 2 more cards.  The theme for the current challenge, which is in its 3rd round, is Fall.  Nothing says fall to me like apples! One of the free images we received for this round was a bowl of apples.  Yum!!  The image is by Glitterbabe and is colored with Copics.  The card is a 6" square.

The cardstock I used is by Core'dinations and Recollections and the DP is DCWV's Summer Dream stack.  The ric rac trim was purchased at Michaels and the flower was a Jo-Ann dollar bin item.  The sentiment is from ajilliamvancedesign's Down On the Farm stamp set.  I'm not showing the inside of the card this time.  It is finished in the same manner as I finish all my cards but I haven't put the white paper for writing and stamping the sentiment yet so there really wasn't much poing in including a photo of it.  I was trying to finishe both cards, take and edit the photos and get both blog posts completed before the challenge period ends tonight.
My 5th and final entry will be in the next post, in case you arrive on my blog before I get it posted! LOL!

Happy crafting!

Challenge #21 at Amber's Crafts and Stiuff

Happy Hump Day, everybody!  It's time for a new challenge at Amber's Crafts and Stuff.  This week the theme is "Sparkle and Shine" and our wonderful sponsor  is Glitterbabe's Digis, which donated the images you will see on all the design team projects today!  I have a card that I hope will inspire you to enter the challenge.

As much as I love shiny, sparkly things, this challenge was right up my alley.  I used this really cute image of an old-fashioned telephone and updated it to look like one of the fashion phones you see in boutique stores.  What girl wouldn't love a hot pink phone like this one in her boudoir?

Because I wanted the phone to pop out at you, I used black and cream for the background papers and colored the flowers and leaves on one of the papers to coordinate with my color scheme.  I also covered the entire phone with Diamond Glaze to make it shiny and popped it up to make it stand up off of the background.  I also paper pieced it to add extra dimension.  Here are the details:

Image - Glitterbabe's Digis (Call Me)
Light pink cardstock - Core'dinations
Hot pink and black carstock for mats - Recollections
Designer papers K & Company - Black and Ivory 8.5" x 8.5" stack
Inside writing spot is a page from a notepad I bought at Jo-Ann's a while back.
Image and flowers on dp was colored with Copic markers
Black rhinestone flourish - Say it with Crystals

Rhinestones on ends of greeting die cut - Recollections
Metal dots used for the numbers on the phone dial - Imaginisce iRock

Greeting die cut - Spellbinders Shapeabilities Fancy Tags
Call Me Greeting - my own lettering
Glaze on phone and Greeting die cut - Diamond Glaze by Judikins

I have not put a sentiment on the inside yet because I don't know yet who the recipient will be and I like to match my sentiments to the person who will receive my cards.  Be sure and pop over to Glitterbabe's Digi Store and take a look at her cute designs.

I haven't  had a chance to post the mini album I promised but I hope to get to that tomorrow. And don't forget that Friday, I'll have a new project for Just Wordz and Saturday will be a new Paper a la Mode challenge at The Outlawz.  I hope you're all having a good week.  Our temp reached 110 degrees today and that trend is supposed to continue through the rest of the week so I'm spending all my time indoors, crafting, job hunting and cleaning not necessarily in that order.  Until next time...

Happy crafting!
