Challenge #15 at Amber's Crafts and Stuff

Good morning, all my crafty friends!

It's hump day once again and time for another challenge at Amber's Crafts and Stuff.  The theme for this week is "Dog Days of Summer".  I had already used this image on another card a couple of weeks ago, not remembering that this theme was coming up.  Well, it fits the bill so perfectly that I decided to make another card with it!  If you're interested in seeing the first one, you can find it here.  I used a different color scheme, greeting and sentiment this time as well as a little different layout.  Now that I have finished this one, I'm not sure which one I like better.  You can leave me a comment, if you like, and tell me which is your favorite.

I just love this little boy with his dog sitting in what looks like it must be his baby sister's wading pool.  In case you missed it, the image comes from the wonderful digital pencil of Mo Manning.  I colored it with Copic markers and used Diamond Glaze to create the illusion of water.  I typed the greeting in MS Word using the Curlz font, cut it out and layered it onto glitter cardstock by DCWV.  The dp is also from DCWV (I think it's from the Mediterranean stack).  The buttons are Favorite Findings Big Bag of Buttons that I purchased at Jo-Ann.  The dp on the inside of the card is from K and Company's Best of Brenda Walton collection, I found the quote online, printed it in Word using a text box template and cut it out.  The stamped images are Inkadinkado clear stamps that I found in the dollar bin at Jo-Ann, stamped in Mememto Tudexo Black ink and colored with Copics.  All cardstock, except the kind I use for my Copic coloring, which is Gina K's Pure Luxury heavy weight,  is by Recollections.  I used a white gel pen for the faux stitching and the mini ric rac is by Wrights and was purchased at Jo-Ann by the spool.

I think that about covers all the details.  I hope you enjoyed my project and that you have a completely awesome day.  Come play with us at Amber's Crafts and Stuff this week and join in the fun!

Happy crafting!
