Snow Queen

Holy moley!! It's Monday again already!! Where is the time going? Since I started working again, it seems to be whizzing by faster than ever and there just isn't enough time to play anymore. But don't get me wrong... it's wonderful to be earning a paycheck again after so long a time but I sure miss spending as much time as I wanted in my craft room.

Today, I have for you a card I made a few weeks ago using a digi stamp by Rick St. Dennis called "Snow Queen". This is actually the second of 2 cards I made using this lovely image. The first one was done all in pink. In case you missed it, you can find it here. I love the ornate costumes that Rick incorporates into his designs as they are so much fun to color, even though they can present some challenges coloring all the tiny details (that's the part I like most about them). So I changed up the color scheme on this one and used violet as my primary color. Although I really liked the first one, I think this is my favorite of the two. I'd be interested in knowing which one you prefer if you'd care to tell me.

The angle in which this photo was taken really shows the metallic gold ink I used on the "embroidery" work of the costume.

Purple has long been the color associated with royalty because of its rich hue. I can't help but wonder if the dyes used back in those earlier eras was more expensive to produce and perhaps that's the reason for this association.

I love the pairing of violet and green, or in this case teal. I think I used nearly every marker in the BV family in coloring the beautiful Snow Queen.

I added a strip of sequin ric rac to give the card a little extra sparkle. You can never have too much bling!

A closeup showing the detail of the image.

And here's the inside of the card. As you can see, I have not yet added a sentiment as this kind of card can be used for a number of occasions or just as a note card for a special someone.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

The Corrosive Challenge - #169 All That Glitters
Crafting When We Can - #39 Earth, Air, Fire & Water (I chose to represent AIR with of the color choices  and the butterfly) but it could have represented Earth as well.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you have enjoyed your visit and that you'll come again real soon. I'll be back on Wednesday with a new DT project for WOW Embossing Powders. Until then, have a wonderful week and ...

Happy crafting!
Anniebee
