Just a quick post today to share with you a sweet little card I made for my WOW Blog post this month to celebrate the first day of Spring. I used another of Krista Smith's adorable Ragamuffin digis as my focal point which I paper pieced to make it appear 3-dimensional. The background was created using the "Flowers" background stamp from WOW as well as Skyline Grey Puff Embossing Powder from Suzy West's By the Bay Collection. I layered it onto a black cardstock mat and layered that onto a pink shadow-patterned pink cardstock.
The base card is a darker pink cardstock from DCWV's Summer Dream collection. I inked the edges of all the cardstock in a darker pink. The image is, of course, colored with Copics and the outside edge of the oval is embossed with gold powder. The flowers and leaves were made with paper punches, the flower centers are half pearls.
The greeting tag is a Spellbinders Shapeabilities Fancy Tag.
As you can see, I haven't finished the inside. I probably won't do that until I decide who will receive the card.
I just love this sweet little girl in her Victorian-style dress and spats and her little toy zeppelin. I also like the effect of the embossing powders I used in the design. The other colors I used were Suzy West Earthtone Olive and Pale Rich Gold.
I hope I inspired you in some way to start creating your own springtime projects. I'll be back in a couple of days with another card I am making for The Outlawz, where I'll be a guest designer. Be sure and visit the WOW Blog for more inspiration from the other spectacularly talented designers. I hope your week is going well so far. Until next time...
Happy crafting!
