A cute card for The Outlawz' Paper a la Mode challenge...

Okay, so I've decided to extend your break a little bit. And I took a couple of days to take photos of all those new cards I told you I have been working on. This is one of the cards among the many that I finished up the past few days. This cute image came to me from one of my online crafting friends along with several Tildas so long ago that I can't remember who the artist was. I know it; I just can't think of it right now so if any of my readers happens to know, leave me a comment and I'll edit this post to include it.  One of the Outlawz, Elaine Lagford-Pugh just  reminded me that this sweet image is by Lily of the Valley. I colored this ages ago but never got around to putting it on anything until this week... as a matter of fact, until TODAY!!  I told you I had been on a binge and when that happens, I just have to roll with it because I never know when my muse might take a leave of absence again. LOL

Anyway, I made this one specifically for The Outlawz Paper a la Mode challenge, which is a recipe.  One image, 2 words, 3 papers, 4 embellishments and 5 colors. See for yourself if I was successful in following the recipe.

I'm gonna give you a little break today

I originally posted this late Saturday night and scheduled it to post at 5:00 AM the next morning, not realizing that would be Sunday! When I realized it, I pulled it down and posted another (more appropriate, I guess you could say) project instead. I hope I didn't inadvertently offend anyone.  Anyway, just in case you came here looking to see her, here she is!!

Are you tired of Saturated Canary yet?  I'm not, but I've decided to give you, my readers, a little bit of a break today.  I made this card for a Harley riding friend of mine for his birthday.  The image, in case you're not familiar with the artist (I'd be surprised if you aren't but someone asked me so evidently some people haven't been exposed yet), is by Kenny K.  You can find his incredible digis here for download.

This sexy babe by Kenny K, named Carmen Electrifying, is not my usual type of image for card making but I think she's appropriate for the recipient. Besides, she was a LOT of fun to color...  with Copics, of course!

If you're not a student of urban slang, I should tell you that Harleys are also known as "hogs". That should help the sentiment make more sense to you.  LOL

This patterned paper is from DCWV's All Dressed Up Stack. The original was black and white so I colored over it with a teal Copic marker and added the white with a gel pen to make it look more like leopard print. Wouldn't it be cool if leopards came in designer colors like this? 

The greeting was printed on my printer and cut with a Nestie die.

This hot mama on the inside of the card is also by Kenny K.  Her name is Heidi Hot Rod (ahem!) She looks similar enough to Carmen on the front that I decided to put her on the inside where the writing area is located.

One more Saturaed Canary card and then a break...

Hello, all! I had posted a card sporting a sexy biker babe and scheduled it to post at 5:00 this morning, not realizing that today would be Sunday. Such things happen occasionally when you're not punching a time clock Monday through Friday.  Anyway, I decided that post could wait until tomorrow so I took it down and am replacing it with another SC design.

This little darling reminds me of myself when I was a young girl except that my hair was never allowed to grow this long, probably because it was curly and would likely have been a tangled mess by the end of each day!  Krista may have retired this little girl, whose name is Frizzy Jynx, because I looked for her in the digi shop and she's no longer there.  Glad I got her when I did because I think she's adorable.

I think she looks more like Frizzy Hijinx because of the mischievous expression on her face! She is, of course, colored with Copics.

Saturated Canary Thank You Card

Hi, crafty friends! Well, I ended up not posting yesterday after all.  I was finishing up a picture tutorial that I did for a friend of mine and time just got away from me.  But before I crash for the night, or early morning as the case may be, I have yet another Saturated Canary card for you.

This sweet girl is called "Dreads" and I think she is probably my current favorite of all the digis in Krista's shop right now.

Happy Birthday!

Hi, everyone! I'm a little late posting today so I'll get right to it. I have another Saturated Canary card for you today (didn't I warn ya? LOL).

This little cutie is called "Priscilla Pie". I have used a monochromatic color scheme this time, with the primary color being various shades of purple. I making such projects occasionally though I really prefer using lots of color in my projects.

Adorable little Prissy is colored with Copics, of course! The patterned paper I used is from DCWV's Modern Bouquet stack. I used one of Martha Stewart's  punches to make the double layered butterfly in white cardstock and vellum and the greeting is stamped onto a label made using a Nestibilities die. The little flowers, which were originally white, are from Recollections and I colored them with 2 shades of purple Copic markers to coordinate with my design. The self-sticking rhinestones are also by Recollections. The "Celebrate" die cut was made on my Cricut machine.

Saturated Canary Bookmark

Good morning, my crafty friends!

Today, I have for you a bookmark I created specifically for the Saturated Canary Challenge for which the current theme is... you guessed it... bookmarks! I actually created 4 of them so this is just the first one.  Some of the photos didn't turn out as well as I want so I will retake them before I post the others on my blog.

This little sweetheart is called "Nevaeh". Isn't she just precious?

I left the back unadorned so that a personal message can be written there.  I have several friends who are avid readers and they'll probably end up with these cute bookmarks. I think they make a nice little, inexpensive gift and are much nicer than the ones you can buy in the stores.

Another Krista Smith card

Hello everyone! I trust that you all had a wonderful holiday weekend, if you live in the U.S. and a great regular weekend if you don't. My nephew and his wife had a cookout for family at their house with hamburgers, hot dogs, all the sides and plenty of sweets.  It was fun and the food was great.

I also spent some time crafting and taking photos of some of my recent projects so I can start posting them here.  I know it's been quite a while since I posted regularly but I'm going to try my best to keep them coming, for a while at least.

The adorable digi I used on my card for today is by Krista Smith of Saturated Canary (that was a big surprise, right?) called Sport Guy.  I think he's just as cute as can be and was a lot of fun to color.

With the red, white and blue color scheme, I thought this was a good choice to post just after Memorial Day.

I just love the expression on this little guy's face. He looks to be concentrating really hard on making that basket, with his little tongue sticking out! Funny thing is, I do that when I'm coloring so while I was bringing this cutie to life, I must have had an identical expression! LOL!

My grandson plays sports but I don't think basketball is really one in his repertoire. I'm trying to convince Krista to draw a boy and girl performing martial arts as both my grandchildren take classes.

Below is the inside of the card.  I always like to decorate the inside too. I think it just makes it look more professional and complete than having the plain unadorned cardstock showing and it makes the cards sturdier for standing on display for long periods of time. That's just my personal preference though.
